Mimic v. -- to take on the appearance of
We are on a mission to recreate universally beloved music for all to enjoy. During the formative stages of the band, we decided against actually taking on the appearance of those bands we cover, as our name might suggest -- we could never grow enough hair in time -- and instead took on only the sound of the most consummately awesome music of the past 50 years. From The Beatles to Nirvana to Cyndi Lauper, we play a variety of music because we choose not to be confined by the fickle boundaries of genre -- and because the bassist threatened to quit if we didn't play something by Kenny Loggins. Thus our devotion to the craft and our inability to compromise gave birth to the sweet and diverse sounds of Mimic.
